Check out Cowabunga, a burger-focused food truck that specializes in catering. The truck, founded in 2013 by Norwalk resident Benjamin Boger, specializes in residential and corporate parties and events throughout Fairfield County.

According to Boger, what makes his burgers different is that they are sourced from local farms. "The beef is fresh, never frozen and grass-fed," he said. "

And, like with any good burger, the fries are a hit as well.

But there's also something about the fun name and colorful truck that grab people's attention.

Boger was an ice cream man before he came up with Cowabunga. Folks may know him from his Ben's Ice Cream Truck, which he still owns. That's where, in fact, he got his "taste" (no pun intended) of what it's like to be an entrepreneur.

A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, he said he always wanted to see where the ice cream business would take him. He also admitted he wasn't meant for the corporate life.

One winter, when living in Miami, he saw the food truck explosion and had his "aha" moment. So, he bought an old bread van, packed it up with his stuff, and drove back to Connecticut to start what would become Cowabunga.

"We're in our fifth year now and I think we're one of the best trucks in the area," he said. "So much so that we added the burger bus this year. It's a converted school bus with brand new equipment and is really cool."

Boger hopes to grow the business even more and said a possible brick and mortar location could be in his future.
