Founded in 1977, Widow Browns Cafe at 128 Federal Road offers a family-friendly, casual atmosphere, comfort foods, and a welcoming staff. It also features 20 beers on tap with 15 rotating craft beers.
The neighborhood joint serves as a gathering place with something for everyone. The restaurant features pool tables and video arcade games — there's something for every member of the family.
Special anniversary parties are planned for Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10.
Owner Aura Showah, of New Milford, said she couldn't be more pleased with the four decades of success. She runs the restaurant with a mom-and-pop mindset and the assistance of her son.
"Our goal is to make our customers comfortable and feel as if they are a part of the Widows' family. In return, we've enjoyed 40 years of customer loyalty, so we ourselves become an important part of our community. Some say 'Life begins at 40,' so Widow Browns looks forward to many years to come," said Showah.
Regular events include live music on Friday and Saturday nights, Open Mic on Sundays, Trivia on Tuesdays and Kids/Wings Night on Thursdays.
Every other month, the Cafe offers up a five-course beer dinner that features different breweries from across the country.
