BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- One of the latest trends in stress relief doesn't come in a prescription bottle.
Coloring books for adults are hot right now. Multiple studies have shown sitting down with colored pencils and an intricate design are soothing and will reduce your stress levels, and stimulates brain areas related to motor skills.
Whether it takes you back to your childhood, or just takes your mind off your problems, it's a great way to spend an hour or two.
The library will open its Community Room Thursday, set out some coloring books and colored pencils, maybe play some soothing music and invite people to come and relax.
There is no fee, and it's for adults only (18+). Registration is appreciated so the library can plan supplies/seating. Click here to register. Call the library for additional information at 203-775-6241.
The program is from 2-4 p.m. and again from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
