Sherman's Mariya Hurwitz Runs Free Relaxation, Yoga Event At Library

SHERMAN, Conn. — The Sherman Public Library is hosting "Relaxation with Yoga Nidra" on the first Friday of the month.

Mariya Hurwitz of Sherman will give a gentle yoga and guided relaxation class followed by a social gathering at the Sherman Library.

Join Sherman resident Mariya Hurwitz for an evening of gentle yoga and guided relaxation followed by a social gathering and refreshments. The classes are held from 7 to 8 p.m. and are free.

The first Friday program offers a way to relax, unwind and spend time with other members of the community. Classes are open to all adults and no experience or special clothing is required. Bring a mat or blanket and dress comfortably. 

Hurwitz has been teaching yoga to adults and children for 15 years. She is also a corporate professional and mother who uses yoga and meditation to maintain a happy and healthy work/life balance. 

She especially enjoys sharing her joy of yoga, and her classes are infused with playfulness, creative movement and music.
