WESTPORT, Conn. — How many push-ups do you think you can do in an hour?

Find out — and support a good cause — this Sunday, June 4, at the 8th annual Push Against Cancer for Kids, a fundraiser for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.

Hosted by the Westport Police Department and Mental Grit Fitness of Fairfield County, the event encourages individuals and teams from across the state to test their strength and determination by doing push-ups for a full hour.

The challenge runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts, with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m.

All ages and fitness levels are welcome to compete, seeking donations from family and friends to support the camp for children who face health and medical challenges. It was founded by actor/entrepreneur Paul Newman.

Over the last seven years, Push Against Cancer for Kids has raised more than $200,000.

“We are so inspired by how the kids of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp find possibility in each challenge they face,” said Mental Grit Fitness owner Andy Berman. “Being able to face this fitness challenge and raise enough funds to send as many kids as possible to camp seems a fitting tribute to them.”
