BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Thomas Dunkerton, Brookfield's Republican Registrar, is suing the town seeking $15,000 in legal fees he incurred fighting a lawsuit filed against him by resident Jane Miller, according to the News-Times.
MIller unsuccessfully sued Dunkerton after he kicked her out of the local Republican Party under a little-known state statue, said the News-Times.
The city said that taxpayers should not have to pay for a party issue, but Dunkerton counters that he was working as a town official, added the News-Times.
