Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Route 7 will be closed from the intersection of Route 7 and Route 35 to the intersection of Route 7 and Route 102. This closure will continue until 6 a.m. on Monday.

This is the first of five scheduled weekend closures that will take place over the next several months as the Connecticut Department of Transportation replaces the bridge on Route 7 just north of Route 102. The next closure will take place towards the end of the month.

During the closure this weekend, northbound Route 7 thru traffic will be detoured up Route 102 to Route 35 to Route 7 at its intersection with Route 35.

Southbound Route 7 thru traffic will be detoured up Route 35 to Route 102 to Route 7.

Local traffic and those wishing to access businesses on Route 7 will still be allowed access except to the area where the bridge construction is taking place.

In the attached map, the detour route is shown in green and the road closure is depicted in orange. Extra duty officers will be posted on Route 7, and police ask that thru traffic follow the posted detour.
