Catherine Theresa Hildebrandt, 90, Of Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Catherine Theresa Hildebrandt, a resident of Brookfield, died Sunday, May 22. She was 90.

Born on Oct.22,1925, in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of Richard S.E. and Sarah (Lynch) O’Connell.

She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Manhattan and worked with the FBI during World War II. She later worked in the administrative offices of New York Telephone for a number of years after her marriage to her husband, William, in 1948.

In 1961, Hildebrandt and her family moved to Brookfield. She worked as a parish secretary for St. Joseph Church in Brookfield and later as a travel agent for Sunshine Travel in Brookfield. As a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, she was a member of the Confraternity of the Rosary and the Saint Joseph Minstrel. She was a founding member of the Notables, and a member of the Brookfield Playhouse. She especially loved traveling and taking cruises.

She is survived by her son Gregory W. Hildebrandt and his wife Elizabeth of New Milford; her daughter Karen Marucci and her husband Fred of Staten Island, N.Y.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, in St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, New Milford.
