Services Set For Randall Pineau, Who Died In Boating Accident On Lake Zoar

NEWTOWN, Conn. — Services will be held Friday and Saturday for Randall J. Pineau, who died as the result of a boating accident on the evening of Tuesday, July 11, on Lake Zoar. He was 52.

Pineau was the husband of Katherine Pineau and the father to three young men, Ryan, Connor and Cory. He had a beloved dog, Tuxedo.

He was born in Owensboro, Ky., on Oct. 27, 1964, to Patricia and Albert Pineau.

After graduating from Masuk High School in Monroe, Pineau joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1982 to 1986. He repaired tactical air navigation systems for the military’s aircraft. He was stationed at NAS Norfolk.

During his enlistment, he met his wife, Katherine. After being discharged from the U.S. Navy, Randy and Katherine Pineau relocated to Connecticut, where they later married and started their family.

He began his career with Norden Systems in Norwalk, working from 1986 to 1994 as a QA Test Technician. He later resigned that position and followed his passion and hobby of working with computers.

Pineau was often referred to as the Computer Guru. After leaving Norden, he advanced quickly in his new career as an IT Field Technician and ultimately was promoted to CTO for AccuCom Consulting in Westport until 2012.

He then accepted a position with Louis Dreyfus Co. as a Network Administrator and progressed to the position of Infrastructure Operations lead, NAM.

In addition to his wife and three boys, Pineau is survived by sister-in-law, Michelle Elise and husband, Charlie; brother-in-law, Keith Kuhnemund; niece Shawntel Kuhnemund and husband, Brendan; nephews Joshua Kuhnemund, Benjamin Varley, Daniel Pineau and Gabriel Pineau; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Patricia Pineau and Albert Pineau; and his mother-in-law, Patricia Moore.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Honan Funeral home, 58 Main St., Newtown. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Zoar Cemetery, 53 Berkshire Road, Sandy Hook.

Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life at the Sandy Hook Volunteer Firehouse, 18-20 Riverside Road, Sandy Hook, immediately after the services.
