2 Dead, 1 Hospitalized After Drug Overdoses In Norwalk, Police Say

NORWALK, Conn. — Two people are dead and a third was in the hospital after suffering drug overdoses in Norwalk on Saturday morning, and police said all three incidents may be linked to crack cocaine laced with an opiate.

Officers responded to three separate drug overdoses between 8 and 9 a.m. Saturday, police said. 

The first occurred on Quaker Road, the second on Suncrest Road and the third on Perry Avenue, police said. 

Two people have died as a result and the third remains in the hospital, police said. 

The preliminary investigation shows that crack cocaine laced with an opiate may have led to these overdoses, police said. 

Norwalk detectives and the Crime Scene Unit are actively investigating these cases as of Saturday afternoon, police said. 

Detectives will be awaiting lab analysis of evidence seized at the scenes to determine the content of the drug or drugs involved. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is assisting with the investigations into the deaths, police said.
