Matthew Kennedy, 24, of Stratford, a bartender at Miamogue Yacht Club, was arrested around 2 a.m., April 12, after Connecticut State Police said he drove the wrong way on I-95 southbound near the Exit 25 ramp, crashing into another car.

After crashing, state police said Kennedy took off, again going the wrong way on the turnpike before slamming into the center median at Exit 28, where he was arrested.

The driver of the car he hit received minor injuries, state police said.

A test of his blood alcohol level showed he had a limit at nearly three times the legal limit, the police report stated.

Kennedy was charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.

He was released on $5,000 bond.
