Brookfield Man Charged With Threatening To Shoot Up Church

BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Parishioners at a Roman Catholic Church were terrified recently when a local man threatened to shoot them, according to the NewsTimes.com.

Witnesses told Brookfield police that the man, John Ducanic, 58, of Candlewood Lake Road, threatened to shoot everyone at a baptism ceremony at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, reported NewsTimes.com.

Police said that Ducanic did not have a gun and that he appeared intoxicated, newstimes.com said.

Ducanic was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer. He was released on a promise to appear Oct. 20 in state Superior Court in Danbury.
