BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- A distraught teenage girl was quickly located after she ran off into the woods in Brookfield this week, police said.
The unidentified 17-year-old, who police were told was suicidal, was found safe by officers with the help of K-9 Bruno and his handler, Sgt. Jeff Osuch, they said.
The nature of the search and the bitter temperatures made it necessary to act as quickly as possible, police said.
Last seen in the area of Federal Road, the teen was found hiding behind a local business and taken to Danbury Hospital for observation, police said.
