The initiative encouraged and welcomed patrons of the deli and members of the community to speak with the officers.
Brookfield police joined other departments across the county in the forum, at which members of the public openly can voice their opinion, share concerns and engage police officers in conversation. Topics at the deli Friday ranged from sports, Hurricane Matthew, traffic stops, child car seat safety and a recent Tip-A-Cop event, according to police.
Several families also used this opportunity to introduce their officer-shy children to uniformed police officers, police said.
