State police have released few details about the case after a woman's body was found in a home at 26 Candlewood Drive in a neighborhood along Candlewood Lake.
State Police called the woman's death “suspicious” at the time and have arrested Steven Flood, a 32-year-old man who lived at the same address, as a "person of interest" in the case. Troopers had responded to the home for a well-being check last Tuesday morning and forced their way inside.
Police have not officially identified Guido as the victim, but at Flood’s arraignment last week a prosecutor said he was the main suspect in her death, according to the News-Times.
Flood was charged with third-degree larceny and held on $100,000 cash bond after his arraignment.
Flood was tracked down last Thursday, by a patrol trooper and his K9 partner while he was camping in the woods in Union, on the Connecticut/Massachusetts border in the northeastern part of the state, police said.
Flood, who was cooperative with police, was arrested, state police said.
State Police said that Flood became a person of interest in the woman's death “during the processing of the residence and the course of this investigation.” They had checked several addresses before tracking him down while camping.
Flood is expected to appear again in court on June 2.
