updated: NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Power lines and a couple of poles were knocked down due to strong winds on Shortwoods Road in New Fairfield on Sunday afternoon, the New Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department said via Facebook.
The power was out to over 140 customers on Sunday for a few hours, and the road was closed between Route 39 and No. 21 Shortwoods Road, the post said. The power outage affected about 2 percent of the town, Eversource said.
The power was restored later Sunday evening and the road was reopened.
