The joint training session involving local emergency responders — police, fire, EMS and more — will continue through 6 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Great Plain Elementary, Broadview Middle School, St. Gregory the Great Church and Danbury Hospital, police said.

The training exercise is to prepare for an attack or a complicated mass casualty event, police said.

There will be a lot of emergency response vehicles in the vicinity for the exercise, police said. Exercise activity is confined to areas marked and closed to the public.

None of the activity is taking place along city streets, although drivers are cautioned to expect traffic in the training area.

The drill will involve over 100 volunteer actors as well as dozens of police, fire, and emergency medical service personnel.
