Anthony Petrella, the neighbor from across the street ran into the house at 2 Pond Ridge Rd., after the fire broke out at around 11:30 a.m. and removed the residents, along with their dog, according to James Gagliardo of the Danbury Fire Department.

Meanwhile, a first alarm was transmitted and Danbury Fire Department units responded. Upon arrival, Deputy Chief Bernie Meehan was faced with a fire on the outside of an attached garage.

Recognizing the magnitude of the fire, a second alarm was requested.

Moments later, shortly after more units arrived on scene, the fire was extinguished.

"Due to the quick action of all involved the fire was under control in minutes and the residents were able to reoccupy the house," Gagliardo said.

All occupants of the house were evaluated by Danbury Hospital EMS and were cleared with no injuries.

The Danbury Fire Marshal’s office was requested to the scene and is investigating the cause.
