Newtown Police Identify 42-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Crash

NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in Thursday afternoon's accident on Route 25 as Michael Defusco, 42, of Southbury.

The fatal crash occurred on Mount Pleasant Road near Reservoir Road in Newtown, just west of the flagpole.

Police responded with Newtown Hook & Ladder and Newtown Ambulance to Mt. Pleasant Road/Route 25 in the area of Reservoir Road at around 3 p.m. Thursday on a report of a motorcycle accident. When officers arrived they found Defusco's heavily damaged motorcycle, a 2011 Harley Street Glide, in the southbound lane of Mt. Pleasant Road. 

Defusco was located down the embankment of the southbound shoulder, police said. Paramedics that arrived on scene determined that Defusco was deceased due to the extent of his injuries suffered in the crash.

The Newtown Police Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash and police are asking anyone that might have witnessed the accident to contact the Newtown Police Department at (203) 426- 5841.
