Police: Danbury Man With Gun Busted Selling Drugs Out Of White St. Business

DANBURY, Conn. — A Waterbury man was found with a loaded pistol as he was busted on multiple drug charges Thursday at a business on White Street in Danbury, police said.

Officers executed a search warrant at Imperial Sound Studios at 248B White St. and arrested  Omar “Gucci” Thomas, 30, police said. They seized Thomas as he parked a vehicle in front of the business, police said. 

He had cocaine, heroin and marijuana in his possession along with was a loaded pistol, which had the serial number altered, police said. 

Investigators also seized Tyreek Wallace, 21, of Waterbury, who was driving a vehicle sought in the search warrant, and a "known drug abuser walking in the area," police said. 

The known drug abuser, with $40 in his hands, made eye contact with Thomas and was walking straight toward him when he was seized, police said. 

Officers released the known drug abuser without being charged, and Wallace was issued an infraction on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Thomas was later placed under arrest and transported to the Danbury Police Department..

He was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana, altering/removing ID marks of pistol, criminal possession of pistol, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Thomas was held on $100,000 bond.

The search warrant was executed by  members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division, the Community Conditions Unit and the Danbury Regional SWAT Team.
