The Connecticut Siting Council, a state entity that has jurisdiction on the placement of telecommunications towers and other types of infrastructure, will conduct the hearing Tuesday, Aug. 2.
Homeland Towers LLC and Cellco Partnership have applied to the town council for a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need.
The hearing will be at the Brookfield Town Hall, Room 133, 100 Pocono Road.
A tour of the site will take place at 2 p.m. followed by an evidentiary session at 3 p.m.. The public will be able to put in its two cents starting at 7 p.m.
Homeland Towers representatives have said if the council grants its certification, the 150-foot Verizon tower could be completed in about a year.
Anyone wishing to be admitted as a party or intervenor at the hearing has to file a written request by Tuesday, July 26, the council said.
