BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Republicans in Brookfield, who have been fighting for control of the local party, will hold a primary March 1 to decide who will run the Republican Town Committee, according to the News-Times.

Registered Republicans in the town can vote March 1 from among 50 candidates — 25 incumbents and 25 challengers who tried but failed to take control at a party caucus last month, the News-Times said.

Some Republicans blame the incumbent leadership for the party’s losses in the November municipal elections, the News-Times said.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 1 at Huckleberry Hill School and Brookfield High School.
