SHERMAN, Conn. -- Tennis courts at Veterans Field, a new Town website, and a dog leash ordinance will be put before Sherman voters at a town hall meeting Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at Mallory Town Hall.
The following is on Thursday's agenda:
- To authorize an expenditure of $8,326.52 from the Happy Acres Farm trust account for emergency mold remediation and associated bathroom repairs at Happy Acres Farm, 2 Taber Road,
- To authorize an expenditure not to exceed $7,000 from the Capital Nonrecurring Fund for the purchase of five HeartStart FRx defibrillators as requested by the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department,
- To authorize an expenditure not to exceed $10,000 from the Capital Nonrecurring Fund for the purchase of a high-performance washer-extractor, as requested by the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department,
- To authorize an expenditure not to exceed $2,500 from the Capital Nonrecurring Fund for the purchase of office furniture for the Social Services office at Olde Town Hall,
- To authorize an expenditure not to exceed $1,800 from the Capital Nonrecurring Fund for the purchase of stackable arm chairs for the Senior Center at Olde Town Hall,
- To authorize an expenditure not to exceed $10,000 from the Capital Nonrecurring Fund for the design and development of a new Town website,
- To authorize an additional expenditure not to exceed $99,000 from the Capital Nonrecurring Fund for the design and construction of three new post tension tennis courts at Veterans Field as requested by the Parks and Recreation Commission,
- To authorize an expenditure not to exceed $34,500 from the Capital Nonrecurring Fund for the construction of new Trex docks, as requested by the Parks and Recreation Commission,
- To consider the adoption of a dog leash ordinance as requested by the Parks and Recreation Commission. A copy of the proposed ordnance can be found here .
