SHERMAN, Conn. — The public is invited to join the fifth-graders from the Sherman School on Monday as they create a Colonial-era town at the Sherman Historical Society.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon with the goal of making a mini Old Sturbridge Village.
The students' re-creations will include a variety of different "centers" depicting various aspects of Colonial life. Each student has learned a craft or trade, which they will demonstrate in the centers that they also created.
"We are thrilled have the Cobbler Shop area used for this event and to see children so excited about history," the historical society said in a Facebook post.
Parking will be at the Sherman Library, which is directly across the street.
