NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A mother of four students in the New Fairfield school district has created a petition calling for a vote of no confidence in superintendent Alicia Roy, according to the Danbury News-Times.
Patricia Gasparino said she started the petition because she 'wanted people to pay attention,' and that teachers and students 'weren't getting what they need,' the News-Times said.
The petition lists such reasons as a recent federal suit regarding an 11-year old girl being harassed in school, and overall 'manipulation, intimidation, fear-mongering and dishonesty' through Roy's tenure, reported the Danbury News-Times.
Gasparino created the petition on Tuesday, and had around 175 signatures by Wednesday afternoon, the News-Times noted.
School Board Chairman Steve Burfeind said the board supports Roy, the News-Times reported.
