Keith Conway, president of the New Fairfield Education Association, the teachers union, said that Roy had 'lost the ability to lead the district,' the News-Times noted.

The launching of a Change.org petition calling for a vote of no confidence in Roy by the Board of Education two months ago started the groundswell of opposition to Roy, reported the Danbury News-Times.

The petition, available at this link, points out the district's removal of teachers while Roy received raises, the slipping of the district in state rankings, and various lawsuits, among other concerns.
