Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Cleared From I-84 In Newtown

NEWTOWN, Conn. — A jackknifed tractor-trailer was slowing traffic on the westbound side of I-84 in Newtown on Tuesday afternoon, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.

Westbound traffic is congested for 5 miles between Exits 14 and 10 because of the accident, which is between Exits 10 and 9, DOT said.

The right and center lanes are closed as of 1:30 p.m.

It was not known when the accident scene would be cleared.
