FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Rain is forecast for the rest of Tuesday and into Wednesday for Fairfield County as the region copes with a mid-winter thaw.

The region dodged a weather bullet, as Northern Connecticut is under a winter weather advisory and is expecting snow and sleet.

Rainfall could reach as much as a quarter of an inch on Tuesday. Rain is predicted for Wednesday morning, and motorists could see patchy fog. There is a chance of showers between noon and 3 p.m. Temperatures will reach the mid 30s in Fairfield County on Wednesday.

Once the rain moves out, the region expects to see temperatures climb through the rest of the week, with highs reaching the upper 40s throughout the weekend. No snow
