Donation days will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Red Barn on the following Saturdays: April 30 and May 7, May 14 and May 21.

Accepted items include antiques, collectibles, furniture, dishes, china, linens, household items, tools, art, outdoor equipment, gardening tools, children's toys, games and more.

The society requests people keep them in mind while spring cleaning and finding much-loved items that are no longer needed and hardly used.

Volunteers cannot accept clothing, computers, books, baby items (such as cribs or car seats), electronics, luggage, mattresses, stuffed animals, unassembled furniture or heavy exercise equipment.

Items should not be dropped off on unscheduled days. The society will arrange to have larger items picked up from home and delivered to the barn for a fee.

Donated items should be of good quality and working order.

The Red Barn is at 10 Route 37 in Sherman Center.

A volunteer-based organization, the Sherman Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation, collection, celebration and interpretation of the town's history.

The nonprofit relies on the Spring Barn Sale to finance operating costs that maintain and preserve the society's buildings that offer historical programming to the community year-wide.

Contact office@shermanhistoricalsociety.org or call 860-354-3083 and leave a message for additional information.

The barn sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 28.
