At 3:15 p.m. Sunday, the prison was placed on lockdown after a prisoner was not accounted for during a routine facility count, state police said.
The offender, identified as Jerry Mercado, 25, is classified as a low-risk offender. He is from Hartford.
Emergency notification to local and state officials and members of the public have been made through the state’s alert system, state police said.
