The first swastika was found around 7:30 a.m. Thursday drawn on the sidewalk in front of the Ferguson Library at 96 Broad St., said Stamford Police Lt. Michael Noto.
Shortly after, the department received reports of two additional similar drawings in front of 285 Bedford St., and 11 Forest St., he said.
The drawings were done in chalk and written under the swastikas was the message “Good Luck”. All three acts of vandalism appear similar.
"The Stamford Police Department, as well as the Stamford Community, is outraged at this act of intolerance and hate," said Noto. "An act of ignorance and hate aimed at any segment of our society is aimed at us all."
Departments officials said they will utilize all of their resources in identifying the person responsible.
Investigators are currently searching through surveillance video from the downtown area. A subject, as of now unidentified, is seen in the area at about 3:30 a.m., Noto said.
"We are working tirelessly to identify this person," he added.
