BROOKFIELD, Conn. — A small fire broke out Sunday in a classroom at Huckleberry Hill Elementary School in Brookfield, which was unoccupied at the time, firefighters said in a Facebook post.
Both Brookfield fire companies along with the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company in Bethel and the Danbury Fire Department responded.
The fire started inside an air heating/cooling unit, firefighters said.
The blaze was quickly contained. It caused minimal damage and a moderate smoke condition inside the building, which that was also quickly controlled, firefighters said.
