BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Police were investigating a robbery at the northern Brookfield branch of Union Savings Bank at about 4:04 p.m. Monday.
The robbery was reported at 4:04 p.m. by personnel at the bank at 828 Federal Road, police said.
A lone white male, 5-foot10 and wearing a black pullover hooded sweatshirt, a black knit cap, black sunglasses, and a pulled-up black neck gaiter, entered the bank carrying a black backpack and demanded money from the teller drawers, police said.
The suspect did not display a weapon nor claim to be armed, but told tellers not to call police or they would be harmed, police said.
The suspect fled the bank on foot through the parking lot, heading toward the Brookfield Lanes, police said. A Danbury Police Department K9 unit responded to assist Brookfield police in tracking the suspect into the parking lot, where the track was lost, police said.
Witness reports indicate the suspect entered the bank wearing his entire disguise, police said.
Police are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of the Four Corners area around 4 p.m. Monday and might have seen anyone matching the description or acting in suspicious manner to call Detective Michael Zezza at 203-775-2575.
