New Fairfield Home Destroyed By Stubborn Blaze

NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A New Fairfield home was completely destroyed in a stubborn fire Saturday evening that took nearly six hours to completely extinguish, according to the News-Times. 

The family was able to escape the fire uninjured at this house at 2 Flak Lane in New Fairfield on Saturday evening.

The homeowner and three firefighters were treated for minor injuries at the fire at 2 Flak Lane as all three fire companies in New Fairfield, the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department, the Putnam Lake Fire Department and the King Street Fire Department in Danbury responded, the News-Times said.

Heavy equipment was brought in to tear the house apart as firefighters battled the blaze, the News-Times said. Only the foundation, siding and a chimney remained of the house, the story said.
