The construction worker killed in a Kenilworth trench accident earlier this month has been identified as a 29-year-old former Rutgers University athlete. Corey Greg Stasenko, of Cranford, was killed on Monday, May 6, during a project on Monroe Street, Daily Voice has learned. ICE agents placed a detainer on an Ecuadorian national living in Hackensack who local authorities said felt up a youngster during a sleepover at a family member’s home. Diego G. Buri-Mora, 35, was seized on Tuesday, May 14 by Hackensack police, who notified members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. Civilians teamed up with police to rescue a teenage girl who was struck and pinned beneath a vehicle Tuesday in North Bergen's Racetrack neighborhood, witnesses said. The victim, believed to be 15, was struck near a bus stop at the corner of Palisade Plaza and Woodcliff Avenue outside James J. Braddock Park shortly before 4:30 p.m. May 14, they said. Citizens with floor jacks assisted township police in lifting the vehicle and getting her out. An ambulance took her to the trauma center at Hackensack University Medical Center.
